A Tiger Becomes A Roadrunner

  • Wednesday, May 21, 2014

Ringgold Tiger cheerleader Sumer Jenkins signed Tuesday to join the Dalton State squad this fall.

Ms. Jenkins has cheered since middle school and was on the Ringgold High squad during all four years.

“It’s a good school and close to home,” Ms. Jenkins said. “I never thought I would cheer, but I just went for it and I made it. I’m thankful to become a Roadrunner.”

Tiger Cheer Coach Whitney Hood hopes to see more members of her squad at DS.

“Sumer is in the first class of cheerleaders I have coached from freshman year to senior year,” Ms.

Hood said.  “She has grown from a quiet, shy young girl to a wonderful leader and young woman.”

“Sumer has worked hard to reach her goals in cheer and she will continue to strive and grow as a cheerleader,” said Ms. Hood. “We look forward to continuing to build our program and send cheerleaders to DS.”
