Harold L. Centers, 84, of Cleveland, TN, passed away Monday, July 28, 2014 in a Cleveland health care facility.  

He had lived in Cleveland since 2010 and was a former resident of Baltimore, MD. He was of the Church of God faith. He was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard serving his country for 20 years.  He received many awards including the Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation, Coast Guard Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Mr. Centers was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Carrie Madaline Centers; his parents, Stillman Garfield Centers and Lorene Centers; and brother, Ralph Centers.

Survivors include his three children:n,  Kenneth M. Centers of Cleveland, Harold Wayne Centers and Robert Eugene Centers both of Norfolk, VA; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Imogene Jannise of Norfolk, VA; two nieces, Charlene Jannise of Norfolk, VA and Kimberly of Virginia Beach, VA.

There will be no services at this time.

Ralph Buckner Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
