Police responded to a burglary-in-progress call on 18th Street and found upon arrival that the victim had already subdued the suspect.

Once handcuffed by police, Joseph Sarcona, 47, also admitted to breaking into the same house two days prior.

The first time, Sarcona said he took two large starters and three large alternators. Together, these items totaled $1,450.

Sarcona also admitted to selling these items at American Alternator, Starter, and Battery on Rossville Boulevard.

During the second break in, police said Sarcona was trying to steal a truck tire. However, all of the stolen items were recovered and returned to the victim.

Sarcona was charged with aggravated burglary, theft over $500, and vandalism.
