Thomas Arden Guinn, 73, of Cleveland, TN, died on Thursday, August 14, 2014. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. Leonard and Laura Guinn; a brother, Melvin E. Guinn; sister-in-law, Elinor Emory Guinn; and brothers-in-law, Ed Roe and Kenneth Leamon.

He was a member at New Union Baptist Church, past Master of the Limestone Lodge No. 176, past Worthy Patron of Calhoun Eastern Star No. 188, and past president of the UAW. He retired from Allied Signal in 1998 after 30 years of service. 

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Janey Posey Guinn; four daughters, Susan and Charles Liner of Calhoun, TN, Artia ( Mark Deakins) of Nashville, Karen ( Hassan Nejati )of Boyds, MD and Tommy Baker (Randy) of McDonald; 11 grandchildren, Arthia Deakins, Sueanna (Chris Adams,) Yousuf Nejati, Thomas Baker, Marquietta ( John Kennedy), Mariam Nejati, Zainab Nejati, Joshua Liner, Ben Baker, Ali Nejati and Laura Liner; two great-grandchildren, Zandrall and Ziza; one brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Doris Guinn; two sisters, Mary Alice Roe and Naomi Leamon; one sister-in-law, Ann Guinn; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Saturday, August 16 at the North Ocoee Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Reverend Bob Patty and Reverend Donnie Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Cofer Cemetery in Meigs County with his grandsons and nephews serving as active casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be members of the New Union Baptist Church in Georgetown and the Limestone Lodge #176 F&AM in Birchwood, TN. A Dove release will conclude the services. 

In lieu of flowers the family requests that you send donations to New Union Baptist Church Mission Fund 11130 Meadowview Rd Georgetown, TN 37336. 

The family wishes to express their appreciation and thanks to Chattanooga Hospice, Tennessee Oncology, Dr. Darrell Johnson, and Memorial Hospital. 

The family will receive friends from 3-7 p.m. Friday, August 15. A Masonic Service will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Friday, August 15 after the visitation at the North Ocoee Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes who has charge of the arrangements.
