Stewart, Betty Jo Rogers (Benton)

Betty Jo Rogers Stewart, 86, of Benton, TN, passed away Monday, August 18, 2014 at a local health care facility. 

She was a member of Zion Baptist Church. Before her retirement she was Polk County Trustee.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill W. Stewart; parents, George Oliver and Mary Moore Rogers; sisters, Eula Bramlett and Jane Evans; brothers, Bennie Rogers, Ray Rogers, John Woodrow Rogers and George (Bunk) Rogers.

Survivors include her children, (Penny) Molly Kerr and husband, Roy, and Pricilla Callahan and husband, David; son, George Barnes and wife, Gwen; grandchildren, Howell Kerr and wife, Kayanne, Amy Gray, Blake Callahan and wife Megan, and Aaron Barnes; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; sister, Mary Bramlett of Benton; and sisters-in-law, Edna Rogers, of Benton and Gerri Grubb of Cleveland.

Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday, August 21, at Zion Baptist Church with the Reverend David Peters and the Reverend Harold Firestone officiating. 

Interment will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 22, at the Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, August 21 prior to the service at Zion Baptist Church.
The family requests that memorials be made to Zion Baptist Church, 953 Parksville Rd. Benton, TN 37307.
