Juvenile Court Judge Rob Philyaw said he is not reappointing two of the six court magistrates.
Leaving their posts will be Emma Andrews, who has been a magistrate (formerly called referee) for 16 years, and Elizabeth Gentzler, a magistrate for four years.
Both have handled child support and parentage cases at the Child Support Division, the judge said.
Judge Philyaw, who was recently elected judge after earlier getting an appointment from the County Commission, said, "The magistrates serve at the pleasure of the judge. Coming into a new term, it has been decided to not reappoint these two magistrates."
He said a replacement for Ms. Andrews has been chosen, but he is not yet ready to announce it.
Ms. Andrews made about $85,000 and Ms. Gentzler about $77,000.
