Dunked Benefits 4 Local Nonprofits Friday

  • Tuesday, September 9, 2014

Chattanooga Friends is presenting Dunked for its fifth consecutive year to benefit four local nonprofits. The event will be held on Friday at Miller Plaza from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Dunked involves recruiting well-known Chattanoogans to take the plunge for a good cause.  This year, Dunked benefits Siskin Children’s Institute, Northside Neighborhood House, Children’s Advocacy Center of Hamilton County and Chambliss Center for Children.

Chattanoogans have volunteered to allow friends and foes alike to attempt to dunk them in support of local charities. Each Dunkee is raising funds for one of the four nonprofits at https://www.crowdrise.com/Dunked14.

Dunkees will include NewsChannel 9 Anchors Beth Neuhoff and Greg Funderburg; Brian Joyce of Talk Radio 102.3 FM; Pete Cooper, president of the Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga; John Farrimond, president and CEO of Siskin Children's Institute; and Chef Miguel Morales, owner of 1885 Grill, just to name a few.

For a $5 donation, participants will receive three balls to throw at the Dunkee of their choice, or for $20, they can buy unlimited throws.

Local food trucks will be selling dishes to attendees, and restaurants in Miller Plaza will also be open for lunch.

For more information, including the times the businesspeople will be in the dunking booth, please visit https://www.crowdrise.com/Dunked14.
