Multiple Shots Fired At Man Stopped At Red Light On Amnicola Highway

Chattanooga Police said multiple shots were fired at a man stopped at a red light on Amnicola Highway on Friday afternoon.

The Chattanooga Police Department was dispatched to an aggravated assault incident involving two vehicles near 4500 Amnicola Highway at 2:54 p.m. 

Upon arrival officers located the victim standing next to his vehicle.

The driver, 20-year-old Michael Jones, said he exited Dupont Parkway heading north on Amnicola Highway when he noticed a sedan behind him.

  Mr. Jones stopped at a traffic light and, as the light turned green, the suspect vehicle sped up and pulled in front of him.

 At this time Mr. Jones decided to pass the suspect’s vehicle and, as he passed, the suspect lowered the driver side window and fired a weapon at Mr. Jones.

·         Mr. Jones was not struck. However, police did observe multiple bullets holes in his vehicle.

·         Mr. Jones said he has no previous knowledge of the suspect.

Police are looking for a dark gray sedan and a bi-racial man with a goatee.
