Casework by special agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has contributed to indictments for a White County woman, the third individual now charged in connection to a 2014 homicide.

On Feb. 9, 2014, at the request of 13th District Attorney General Randall York, TBI special agents, along with investigators from the White County Sheriff’s Office, began investigating the death of 41-year-old Jill Farley. On that date, at approximately 7:45 p.m., the 36-year-old Cookeville woman drove into the parking lot of the Dollar General on Robert Matthews Highway in Sparta. She waited in the car while her passenger went inside the store. A store clerk saw a struggle inside Ms. Farley’s vehicle, after which the clerk and Ms. Farley’s passenger went outside and saw the woman was severely injured.

Ms. Farley later succumbed to her injuries at Cookeville Regional Hospital. On Feb. 13, 2014, a White County Grand Jury returned indictments, charging 36-year-old Brian Anthony Logan and 26-year-old Miranda Michelle Brown of Sparta, with one count each of felony murder and aggravated robbery.

As a result of the continued joint investigation, the White County Grand Jury on Monday returned indictments for Lisa Kay Young, charging the 43-year-old Sparta woman with one count of first-degree murder, one count of felony murder, and one count of aggravated robbery.

Authorities subsequently arrested her Monday afternoon and booked her into the White County Jail, where at the time of this release, she was being held on $1,000,000 bond.
