The (RV) University of Mobile Rams came to Dalton and knocked off the young (19) Dalton State Roadrunners, 1-0.

The fans were still filing into Lakeshore Park Thursday night when the University of Mobile’s Pierre Mangold kicked the only goal of the game with only 48 seconds played.

“We were not ready to play the match,” said Dalton State Coach Kerem Daser. "It’s very disappointing to be down 1-0 so early. We fought hard in both halves.

Mobile was a very good, solid team with some experienced players who have been through conference wars. We are a young team that is hard working and has potential.”

Daser takes his first year Roadrunner soccer team on the road Saturday to play their first ever SSAC game away from Lakeshore Park. They will be at William Carey University in Hattiesburg, Miss. for a game scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. CDT (8:30 p.m. here in Dalton).
