Kenneth “Kent” Lamar Wheelous, formerly of Chattanooga, died on Thursday, November 12, 2015 in a Rome, Georgia hospital. 

He was a 1975 graduate of Howard High School.  He was a member of St. Mary C.M.E. Church and later joined Greater Beulah Baptist Church.  He was formerly employed by Wheland Foundry, Mueller Company, and the Read House. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lillian Wheelous, Sr.; sister, Earnestine Townsend; and brother, Jerry Heard.

Survivors include his son, Devin Wheelous; devoted girlfriend/caregiver, Lucy “Candy” Benford of Rome, GA; sisters, Annette Hendricks, Erleen (Howard) Johnson both of Chattanooga, Peggy Daniel of Ellenwood, GA, and Yvonne (Anthony) Sims of Knoxville; brother, John Wheelous, Jr. of Chattanooga; aunt, Alice Heard; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. 

A memorial service will be on Saturday, Nov. 21, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home.
