Lee's Hudson Signs Twins From Alabama

  • Wednesday, November 25, 2015
For the second time in her successful college volleyball career, Lee University head coach Andrea Hudson has signed a set of twins. Sara Elizabeth and Mary Katherine Givhan have returned their scholarship papers to the university.

Back in 2004 coach Hudson recruited Daisy and Rosie Varbanova to join the Lady Flames. Daisy developed into a Region Player of the Year and an NAIA all-American. The Lee coaching staff hopes for the same type of results from Sara Elizabeth and Mary Katherine.

The new recruits are from Gurley, Ala.
Both are 6-foot-2 and  Mary Katherine is a middle blocker and Sara Beth is a right side hitter. They attend Providence Classical School and played volleyball for Rocket City Volleyball in Huntsville, Ala.

"We have been in contact with the girls for over a year," said coach Hudson. "They are exactly the type of athletes we are looking for as we enter the upcoming year. Both are dynamic front-row players and are also great academic students as well."
