Lawson, William Carl "Popeye" (Jasper)

William Carl “Popeye” Lawson, of Jasper, Tennessee, died on Saturday, November 28, 2015 in a Chattanooga hospital. 

He was a veteran of the US Army having served in Vietnam and Germany. He was a lifetime member of the VVA 203. Carl was of the Baptist faith. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Evalene Lawson.
 
Carl is survived by his wife of 44 years, Frances Wells Lawson; son, David (Shae) Lawson; granddaughters, Brooke Lawson and Rylan Lawson; great-grandson, Nash Giles; sister, Millie Ann McCollum; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. CST, on Wednesday, Dec. 2 with Rev. Steve Skaggs and Rev. Gene Lewis officiating. Interment with military honors will be in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. CST, Tuesday, Dec. 1. 

The family request that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
