Laura Carden, 70, was struck by a vehicle early Saturday morning.
Chattanooga Police responded at 3:30 a.m. to 700 Mississippi Ave. on a report of a pedestrian struck. There police located an unresponsive female in the roadway. She had been struck while in the roadway.
No suspect vehicle was located in the area. The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. Witnesses to the collision advised the suspect driver was a black male in a silver or blue sedan. The suspect would have been driving in the area of North Chattanooga in the early morning hours and will likely have front end damage to his vehicle.
Ms. Carden has worked for many years at the Downtown Sportsbarn.
Friends report that Ms. Carden has suffered several injuries and is in the Erlanger ICU where she has still not regained consciousness.

Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this crime to call 423 698-2525. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
