Feds Say Chattanooga Couple Owes $1.2 Million In Taxes

A federal lawsuit says a Chattanooga couple owes $1.2 million in federal taxes, interest and penalties.

The government brought the civil suit against David A. and Katherine J. Rankine.

The suit says the couple reside at 5506 Mountain Breeze Dr. at an upscale development in East Brainerd.

It says the couple will be "indebted to the United States for federal income taxes, penalties, and interest for the 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2012 tax years

in the amount of $1,240,386, plus interest that has accrued and will continue to accrue according to law subsequent to that date."
