MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Dalton State (Ga.) leads the 2014-15 Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) Commissioner's Cup, presented by MMI Dining Systems, all-sports standings after the conclusion of the winter sports season.

The Roadrunners, who have competed in four sports through the fall and winter seasons—men's cross country, women's cross country, volleyball and men's basketball—accumulated 111 of the maximum 126 points (88.10 percent) to claim the top spot in the all-sports standings.

Dalton State also leads the men's sports standings with 63-of-66 potential points (95.46 percent) and the women's sports standings with 48-of-60 possible points (80.00 percent). The Roadrunners women's cross country team claimed the SSAC title, while the Dalton State men's basketball team earned the SSAC regular-season crown. The Roadrunners other teams, men's cross country (second) and volleyball (fifth), also placed among the top five in the SSAC.

The SSAC Commissioner's Cup is awarded based on the cumulative performance of each member school in the league's 15 sports for men and women. This year marks the institution of a new Commissioner's Cup scoring formula, which evaluates the percentage of potential points earned by each member institution in the conference sports it sponsors. This is also the first year that a men's sports and women's sports Commissioner's Cup will be awarded, along with the all-sports award.

Martin Methodist (Tenn.) claims the runner-up position in the all-sports (72.22 percent) and men's sports (81.82 percent) standings. A regular-season runner-up finish to Dalton State in men's basketball headlines the RedHawks' year thus far.

In the women's sports standings, Mobile (Ala.) falls just shy of Dalton State, earning 78.57 percent of the potential points. The Rams' women's teams dominated the fall sports season, claiming a regular-season title in women's soccer and a regular-season runner-up finish in volleyball.

In the all-sports standings, Bethel (Tenn.) (69.86 percent), Mobile (64.38 percent) and Loyola (La.) (63.64 percent) round out the top five.

Bethel (80.65 percent), William Carey (Miss.) (74.19 percent), Faulkner (Ala.) (59.09 percent) and Loyola (59.09 percent) trail Dalton State and Martin Methodist in the men's sports standings.

Blue Mountain (Miss.) (69.57 percent), Loyola (66.67 percent), Auburn Montgomery (Ala.) (65.63 percent) and Martin Methodist (65.63 percent) follow Dalton State and Mobile in the women's sports standings.
