The award is presented each year from the National Wrestling Coaches Associaton and is for significant contributions in promotion and preservation of the sport of wrestling.

“Paul represents the gold standard in our sport and is a great ambassador,” said NWCA executive director Mike Moyer.

“He is always there to help the sport and is a great mentor for aspiring high school coaches.”

White wrestled at City High (1968-70), one year at UTC and three years at The Citadel and also wrestled while in the military.

“To receive this award at the NCAA tournament and also from the great Dan Gable was a real honor and thrill,” said White who has served the NWCA as a state rep, section rep and NWCA and past president of the Ga.

Chapter of the NWHOF.

“A weekend I will always remember.”

Dacula HS.

His teams claimed nine area titles, 10 Hall County titles and won 38 tournament championships. He has also coached several individual state champions. Along the way, White also served as an assistant coach for Team USA-Georgia.
