Children From Sneedville Answer "Who Is My Neighbor" With Chattanooga Visit

  • Thursday, March 26, 2015

“Who is my neighbor,”? is the question students from Sneedville, Tn. will answer through a service learning visit to Chattanooga from Friday-Sunday.

The Beth is organizing a youth lock-in for Sneedville students to spend time with their peers in inner-city Alton Park on Friday.

“Even though they live in different parts of the state and have different problems, we are bringing them together to help them find solutions to some of the struggles the students are dealing with, and to give back to both communities," said officials.

Sneedville and Alton Park students will visit and feed the homeless at Miller Park, and give to the kids at the Chambliss Shelter for Children on Saturday.

"The purpose of the service learning trip is to show the kids that no matter how different their lives might seem, each of them still has the same need to experience and share love and the eternal hope found in Christ, regardless of who their neighbor is," said officials.

This past October, Beth Center students went to Sneedville to understand how their neighbors live.

The trip is part of a partnership program between the Jubilee Project of Sneedville, Tn. and the Bethlehem Center in Alton Park.
