Cleveland State Baseball Snaps Losing Streak

Cleveland State snapped its seven-game losing streak sweeping Tusculum College JV in a double header on Tuesday at Cougar Field.

Drew Korzybski pitched a complete game shutout in game one picking up his third victory of the season.  Cougars third baseman Chris Caffrey and second baseman Blake Thomas scored the game's only runs in the bottom of the first inning helping give Cleveland State the 2-0 victory.

In game two the Cougars jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first two innings, holding on to win 6-3.  Cleveland State centerfielder Wright Hackett led the offensive surge with two doubles driving in one run.

Today's wins put Cleveland State (14-14, 3-11) back at a .500 winning percentage on the season.

The Cougars return to action Friday at Motlow State in the first of a three-game conference series with the first pitch scheduled for 3 p.m.  Cleveland State returns to Cougar Field Wednesday, April 8, to host Piedmont College.
