McCallie's Demetri Bone to Play Baseball at Illinois Tech

McCallie senior Demetri Bone has been accepted to attend Illinois Tech in the fall and will play for the varsity baseball team.

 

The Hawks are in the process of moving to NCAA D-III from NAIA.

 

Bone plans to major in chemical engineering in college, currently holds a 3.5 grade point average at McCallie, made a 29 on the ACT, plays the outfield and runs the 60 meter dash in 6.8 seconds.

 

Last summer he played with the Baseball Mission Travel Team out of Cleveland, Tenn.

as well as a team from Decatur, Ga.

 

Summer workouts have paid off as this past December, he played with the Baseball Factory White Sox from Florida where he went 7 for 11 with two singles, a pair of doubles and triples, scored four runs and had five RBIs for the week.
