Police said that preliminary reports and evidence suggests that Marcus Slattery, 44, shot and killed his girlfriend, Deborah Steele, 58, in Hixson on Friday.
It is believed that Slattery also shot and killed their dog and then shot himself.
The Chattanooga Police Department had received a call to perform a well-being check at 3040 Stage Run at approximately 4:02 p.m. Friday.
The bodies of Ms. Steele and Slattery were transported to the Hamilton County Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy.
The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
