Helen Miller Lee, 68, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away at her home on Wednesday, May 13, 2015.

Although she was 68 at the time of her passing, she was frequently quoted as being 29 years old. Known for her luminous smile and positive, upbeat personality, she rarely met anyone she didn’t consider a friend. Graduating from high school at age 16, she attended Lee University for her undergraduate degree and earned a Master’s degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Adding to her credentials, she earned 45 credits beyond her masters from Lincoln Memorial University. She left an impressive legacy as an educator impacting both Cleveland City and Bradley County School districts during her 35 year career and was a highly requested professional development presenter in numerous school districts in Virginia and Kentucky. She was a master elementary school teacher and a superior educational consultant who was appreciated for her energetic approach to teaching and her expertise in reading instruction. She was also known as a powerful vocalist and guest speaker, having recorded two solo albums and having shared devotional messages and her testimony at many churches across the southeast. She was an active member of Westmore Church of God. A fashionista at heart, she was a favorite model at local boutiques and enjoyed cooking, arranging flowers, and interior decorating.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Maude McWhorter Miller and William Anderson Miller.

Survivors include her husband of 39 years,Terry Lee; two daughters, Elizabeth Kaylor and husband Chad and Lynette McCulley and husband Tommy; one son, Todd Lee; three brothers, Brian Miller, Steve Miller and wife Christy, and David Miller; two nieces, Victoria Miller and Alivia Miller all of Cleveland; four grandchildren, Will Kaylor, Devin McCulley, Lillian McCulley and Tyler Lee all of Cleveland; and numerous cousins, three of which were like sisters, Betty Terry of Dunwoody, GA and Linda May and Oteen Smith of Cleveland.

The family will receive friends at Westmore Church of God from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, and a Remembrance of Life ceremony will be held immediately following at 7 p.m. with the Reverend Kelvin Page officiating.

Interment will be a private service on Sunday, may 17 with all arrangements being coordinated by the North Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes. Pallbearers include Steve Miller, David May Jr, David May III, Brandyn May, Jeff Salyer Jr. and Howard Graham. David Miller will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Westmore Church of God Youth Facility Building Fund, 2412 Wolfe Drive Cleveland, TN 37311.
