Robert Earl “Bob” Mahaffey, 68, died on Friday, May 22, 2015.

He was of the Church of God faith. He was a retired ironworker and a member of Ironworkers Local #704. He was also a member of the Soddy Masonic Lodge #418 F&AM, and the Soddy Daisy Fire Department. During his retirement, he worked for many years at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Nelle Hogue Mahaffey; and late wife, Jeanette Coleman Mahaffey, mother of his children. 

Survivors include his former wife, Carolyn Mahaffey; son, Robert Jeffrey Mahaffey, daughter, Angela Murray (Billy); sister, Mary Ellen Thomas (Tom); special friend, Tammy Massengale; grandchildren, Chastity Ridge, Christopher Murray, Paige Mahaffey, Morgan Rash; several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. 

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26, at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with Reverend Vernon Sneed officiating. Interment will follow in Varner Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 25, from 3-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
