Clarissa Brooks of Woodside Street told police she was cooking supper for her children when she heard someone honking the horn of a vehicle out front - multiple times.
She said she went out and found it was a white Chevrolet Tahoe occupied by Demetrius Hughes, the father of her children, and his girlfriend, Tamera Slaughter.
She said Ms. Slaughter stepped out of the vehicle and yelled, "Let me get my one." (translated by police as "I want to fight.")
Ms. Brooks said she has gotten into a physical fight before with Ms. Slaughter over Demetrius.

Tannis Hall of N. Highland Park Avenue found that someone had tried to break into his house.
A rear security door had been cut open.
A 20-foot extension ladder was taken.
He said his neighbor had a break-in the night before.

A resident of South Holtzclaw reported that 36 bundles of roofing shingles were stolen from his front porch.
The value is $1,440.
Police saw one full pallet of shingles and a partial pallet where there had been two full pallets.

The manager of the Dollar Store on MLK Boulevard said he saw a man take five packages of Bull Dog sardines and four cans of Vienna sausages, then try to leave without paying.
The man refused to halt when confronted about the $9 in items.
The thief was described as a black male, in his early 30s, 5'7" and skinny.
Police caught Brian Stone at 900 Market St. and charged him in the sardines and Vienna sausages heist.
