CAFB’s Home Grown Tasting Event June 18 To Provide Fresh Food Demonstration

  • Friday, June 12, 2015

The Chattanooga Area Food Bank is working with Rebecca Barron, executive chef at St. John's Restaurant, and the Harvested Here Food Hub to provide a food demonstration showing attendees how to prepare a dish with fresh, local ingredients. The Home Grown Tasting event will be on Thursday from 6:30-8 p.m. in the CAFB’s garden pavilion, 2009 Curtain Pole Road, directly behind CAFB warehouse.

Chef Rebecca Barron will demonstrate how to prepare an heirloom tomato panzanella salad. Attendees will be provided a sample plate from the food demonstration and wine will be available. Produce used in the demonstration will be locally sourced and provided by the Harvested Here Food Hub.

Attendees will also hear how the CAFB and Harvested Here Food Hub work together and learn about the Food Hub's progress with local growers and restaurants over the last year.

This event will sell out quickly as there are only 60 tickets available. Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased online at: http://bit.ly/1dh4EnV.
