King, Mary Ellen Lancaster (Catoosa County)

Mary Ellen Lancaster King died on Monday, June 1, 2015 at her home in Catoosa County, Georgia. 

She was preceeded in death by her parents, Wynn and Lettie Hudgins Lancaster; four brothers; and a sister.

Mary was a native and long-time resident of Henderson County. She graduated from Edneyville High School, was a homemaker, and was employed as a bookkeeper and a social worker. Mary taught Sunday School, sang in choir and played organ in Baptist churches. She spoke often of her many friends and loved ones, and her wonderful memories of her years in Hendersonville. 

Surviving are her husband of 68 years, Johnnie Horace King; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Vickie King; granddaughters, Layla (Bobby) Rogers, and Mandy (Brandon) Culpepper; great-grandson, Greyson Rogers; and great-granddaughters, Ella and Ava Culpepper. 

A private family gathering will recognize her passing. 

The family requests that in lieu of flowers that you do something kind for someone else.

Arrangements are being handled by Grissom~Serenity Funeral Home in Cleveland.
