Bring Food Donations To The Lookouts Game July 3 For The Ronald McDonald House And Receive A Free Lookouts Ticket

  • Tuesday, June 23, 2015

The Chattanooga Lookouts will be hosting McDonald’s Night on Friday, July 3 at 6:15 p.m. encouraging attendees to bring food donations for the Ronald McDonald House food pantry, called Mary’s Pantry. Each person that brings at least one food item will receive one ticket to a future weeknight Chattanooga Lookouts game and a McDonald’s coupon.

"Your food donation will make a huge difference to the 26 families staying at the Ronald McDonald House. Every night at 6 p.m., all Ronald McDonald House families enjoy a cooked meal prepared by volunteers. The House also offers a “Help Yourself” kitchen that families are welcome to using as their own. There are food and drinks in the fridge, desserts and frozen foods in the freezer, canned goods in the cabinets, and every kitchen utensil you need," officials said.

“The Ronald McDonald House is more than a place for people to sleep at night so they can be closer to their sick child. We strive to take care of daily aspects these families don’t have time to worry about. That’s why it’s so important to have food at the House and the Mary’s Pantry stocked. Many families say if we didn’t provide food, they wouldn’t care enough to eat. They’d rather spend that time with their sick child.” Tiffany Cobb, development director at the Chattanooga Ronald McDonald House said.

Food items the Ronald McDonald House needs most are individually wrapped snack crackers, snack cakes, small bags of chips, small packages of cereal, spaghetti sauce, instant oatmeal, and canned veggies.

Organizers said, "Your donation will make a big impact by helping feed 26 families. Come bring your family and friends to a fun Friday night at the Chattanooga Lookouts game, donate Mary’s Pantry items and help feed 26 families. What’s better than having fun while helping others?"

There will be a special announcement by Ronald McDonald House Charities at the game. They’ve got a challenge coming and will need community support.  For more information about Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Chattanooga, visit www.rmhchattanooga.com
