Andrew Beatrice, 21, was arrested Sunday for aggravated assault and aggravated burglary after attempting to cut a man living at a Red Roof Inn.

The victim, James Baggett, 55, stated that two women came to his room at the Red Roof Inn at 7014 Shallowford Road, and demanded that he give them a dog that was left on the property the day before.

Mr.

Baggett said that he knew one of the women from meeting her the day before when she was kicked off the property for failure to pay her bill. The second woman attempted to reach into his room to grab the dog, but he pushed her back out and she was not injured by the contact.

The woman then ran to Beatrice and said that she had been punched in the face. He then came to the room and began banging on the door and yelling at the victim. When Mr. Baggett pulled back the curtains to look outside, the defendant punched through it before reaching in with a knife to try and cut him.

After trying for several seconds, he left the scene and drove off in a white pontiac. Officers later noted that Mr. Baggett had multiple cuts on his face from shards of glass and a small cut on his chest that he thought was from the knife.

Beatrice later arrived at Erlanger with a cut on his left elbow and was detained there.
