The Dalton State men’s golf team has added another player to an already strong returning line-up.

Coach Ben Rickett announced Thursday that Adam Morris of North Cobb Christian School has signed to join the Roadrunners this fall.

“I am very excited about the addition of Adam to the Roadrunner family,” said Rickett. “He is a great person and comes from a great family. Adam has shown that he is ready to go after qualifying for the State Amateur along with both Chase and Sean.

It feels like only yesterday that we finished the 2014/2015 season and it is already time to get started again. We are looking forward to having Adam aboard.”

Morris, who fired a 68 to earn medalist honors in the 2015 high school sectionals, was the Eagles Most Valuable Golfer during all four years. He was part of the North Cobb Christian 2015 State Championship team. The Acworth resident has Christian leadership awards, was a two time winner of the American Junior Tour, and has two top ten finishes on the American Junior Golf Association tour.

Academically, Morris is on the A/B Honor Roll and he is a founder of the school’s Journalism Club. “I am looking forward to pursuing my education at Dalton State,” he said. “I will continue challenging myself to be the best student and athlete that I can be.”

Adam is the son of Cheryl and Mitch Morris of Acworth.
