Keontae Howard (or Bush)
Keontae Kevaugh Howard (also known as Bush) has been arrested for the attempted first-degree murder of Justin Hawk.
The victim arrived at Parkridge East Hospital on June 14 at 12:03 a.m.
Chattanooga Police were notified that he had sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his lower back.
He said he and his girlfriend got into an altercation with two other females in the parking lot of the Rustic Village Apartments on Central Drive. He said that when the incident became physical between the three females, he stepped in between to break up the fight.
When he stepped forward to do this, he said the defendant got out of a car nearby and shot him. The defendant then chased him around the car before the victim was able to escape into some nearby woods.
At the time of his interview the victim could not identify the man who shot him, but said that his girlfriend knew him and that the two other females were some of her co-workers, the man being one of their boyfriends.
Four days after he was taken to the hospital, officers also interviewed the victim’s girlfriend who confirmed his story and identified the defendant.
