Accomplished Musician Retired From Alstom Corporation After 34 Years

Rebecca Fite Brannan, 74, of Chattanooga, died on Monday, June 8, 2015. 

Rebecca was born in Grand Junction, Tn., to the late Reverend McKnight and Dorothy Jernigan Fite.  She was a 1958 graduate of City High School where she graduated with honors.  Rebecca was employed with Combustion Engineering as a financial analyst and retired from Alstom Corporation with over 34 years of service.  She was a longtime dedicated member of White Oak Baptist Church where she was the church pianist for many years and served as director of the Senior Adult Choir.  Rebecca also taught piano lessons and was an accomplished flutist.  

She was preceded in death by a sister, Laura Fite Spickler.    

Rebecca is survived by her husband of almost 58 years, Leonard Brannan; children and spouses, David (Kim) Brannan, Doctor Mark (Angie) Brannan and Angie Wild; grandchildren, Chris (Michelle) Brannan, Kaleb and Christina Brannan and Matt (Jennifer) Wild and their daughter, Ali; sister, Sarah Wilson; brother, Allan Fite; several nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home and from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Thursday at White Oak Baptist Church.

A celebration of life service for Rebecca will follow at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, at the White Oak Baptist Church, 310 Memorial Drive, Chattanooga, Tn. 37415 with Doctor Tony L. Wilson and Reverend David Burkhart officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

The family has asked that memorial contributions be made in Rebecca’s name to White Oak Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society, 6221 Shallowford Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421 or www.cancer.org.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
