Collins, Charles Torel Jr. (Jasper)

Charles Torel Collins, Jr, of Jasper, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at the Bridge at South Pittsburg.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran who served his county during the Koran War. He had also worked at the Jasper Journal.

He was preceded in death by his son, Gary Collins; mother, Virgie Morrison Collins; father, Charles Torel Collins, Sr.; and step-mother, Lillie Mae Dawson Dykes.

Charles is survived by his sons, Greg Collins and Charles Michael (Susan) Collins; daughters, Shelia (Dennis) Dunphy, Sharie (Mark) Taylor, Marcia (Keith) Parker and Marla (Chris) Bryant; sisters, Kate (Larry) Sellers, Dot Hailey, Lynn Long and Carolyn (Bart) Hood; and several grandchildren; great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted from Chattanooga National Cemetery at 9:30 a.m. CDT on Friday, July 24.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. CDT on Thursday, July 23 at the Tate Funeral Home who has charge of the arrangements.
