Jerry Jean Malone, of Chattanooga, died peacefully on Monday, July 27, 2015 with his family by his side.

He was born on July 16, 1942 and raised in St. Elmo. He was educated at Lookout Middle School and Tyner High School. He was a longtime member of the the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local 43 and was retired from TVA.

Jerry was an avid fisherman and had many friends that he met while on the lake. He was famous for his fishing lures that he spent countless hours making. He made countless friends from the making of these lures. When he was not on the lake he could be found at Bud’s Sports Bar for lunch with his regular group of fishing buddies laughing and telling stories of the fish that got away.

Jerry was preceded in death by an infant brother, Dennis, father, Dennis Hugh Malone, and mother, Ella Jean Malone.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carmen Yarbrough Malone, two sons, Chad (Debra) Malone, Randy ( Misty) Malone, and grandkids, Grace Claire, Mason, Blair, and Reece.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 30, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home East Chapel with Reverend David Clay officiating. Burial will be at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 29, from 4-8 p.m. and on Thursday, from 10-11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, 4411 Oakwood Drive, Chattanooga, Tn. 37416.
