Volunteer Red Cross Grey Lady At Memorial Hospital For Many Years

Virginia DeLozier Curtis, 92, a lifelong resident of Chattanooga, died on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at a local health facility.

Mrs. Curtis was a graduate of Central High School Class of 1940, a former member of Highland Park Baptist Church and a current member of Frawley Baptist Church. She was a volunteer Red Cross Grey Lady at Memorial Hospital for many years. Virginia will be remembered by all who knew her for her love for her family and friends and will leave an enduring legacy.

The family would like to give a special thanks to her special friend and caregiver, Patricia “Trish” Wright.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Donald Curtis; parents, Harry and Doskie DeLozier; and brother, Elmer DeLozier.

Surviving are her daughter, Nancy (Larry) Jackson; son, Larry Curtis; grandson, Brad (Shelly) Jackson; and grandchildren, Lauren, LeeAnn and Katelyn.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 3, at the funeral home.

Graveside services will follow at 1:30 p.m. on Monday at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Reverend Ken Wolfe officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tn. 38105) or Frawley Baptist Church (510 Frawley Road, East Ridge, Tn. 37412).

Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, and Florist, 404 South Moore Road.
