Jack Lindsay, 79, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2015 at his residence.

He was the son of the late Charles Allen Lindsay, Sr. and Grace Able Lindsay; and was also preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Allen Lindsay, Jr, Harold Lindsay, Dainward Lindsay and Larry Lindsay.

Jack was born in Sugar Valley and grew up in Dalton, graduating from Dalton High School and later Southern Tech where he was a member of Tau Alpha Pi National Honor Society. Upon receiving his degree in electrical engineering Jack went to work for General Electric, living in numerous locations across the southeast. Jack returned to Dalton in the 1960's starting several businesses culminating with a yarn company. Jack left Dalton again to start and run a flooring business, Carpet King, in Las Vegas until returning in early 1990's to semi retire. Jack was baptized and became a member of Rock Bridge Church in 2007.

Jack is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty Kinsey Lindsay of Dalton; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa (Robert) Longley of Dalton; son and daughter-in-law, Jack, Jr. (Gina) Lindsay of Eton; sister, Helen Walraven Roach of Ooltewah, TN; half-brother, Kenneth Land; grandchildren, April (David) Alley, Holly (Tim) Barrett, Jessica (Cullen) Winkler, Tripp Lindsey and Lara Lindsay; great-grandchild, Nora Mae Barrett; nieces and nephews; lifelong friend Hayden Wagers; and his pastors, Matt Evans and Alfred Turley.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 7 at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Matt Evans officiating. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 7 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
