Kelley Mark Levi, 50, has been arrested on multiple theft charges.

Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division located a stolen trailer at a residence in the Soddy Daisy area on Thursday.

While at that location, detectives observed a green Ford F-150 truck arrive which matched the description of a vehicle suspected as being used in several recent thefts in the surrounding area.

When the operator of the vehicle became aware of law enforcement presence, he immediately drove away at a high rate of speed. Detectives attempted to catch up with the truck, but discontinued the pursuit due to the suspect’s reckless driving and total disregard for the public’s safety.

A short time later, sheriff’s detectives located the Levi at a residence in the county and he was taken into custody without further incident.

Detectives were able to determine through their investigation that Levi was responsible for the theft of a truck, utility trailer and boat (total value of $20,000) from various locations in Hamilton County. It was also determined Levi was responsible for the theft of a boat from a residence in the City of Chattanooga.

Levi was arrested and charged with three counts of theft of property, evading arrest and reckless driving. Additional charges are pending through the Chattanooga Police Department.

Since this is an open investigation, there will be no further information released at this time.
