Rosa Montgomery
Rosa Montgomery, 84, died on August 23, 2015 in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia.
She was a caregiver for her family and others in the community. She was a member of Marble Top Baptist Church in Kensington, Ga.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Parks Montgomery; siblings, JT Turner, Bessie Ruth Upshaw, Janie Mae Jackson; grandchildren, Thomas and Destiny Montgomery.
Survivors include her children, Jessie (Vivian), Calvin (Betty), Harry Montgomery, Deborah (Stacey) Evans, Mary Careathers, Shelia Montgomery; siblings, Robert, William (Joyce), Sherman (Peggie), Office, Minnie, Blanche Turner and Carolyn Mathis; 10 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at noon on Sunday, Aug. 30, in the chapel of John P. Franklin. Interment will be in the Garmany Cemetery in Kensington.
The body will lie in state after noon on Saturday, and the family will receive friends from 7–8 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
