Hester, Chuck E. (Athens)

Chuck E. Hester, 54, of Athens, Tennessee, passed away Saturday morning, August 1, 2015 at SkyRidge Medical Center in Cleveland.

The son of the late Clarence and Margie Grogan Hester, he was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County. He was employed at Coleman Glass and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his brother, Darrell Hester; and sister, Loretta Samples.

He is survived by his five children; siblings, Rickie Hester and wife Gail of Riceville, Donnie Hester and wife B.J. of Georgetown, Gary Hester of Calhoun, Roxanna Oliver and husband Mike of King, NC and Christopher Hester of Athens; and several nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4 at Sullins Cemetery in Athens with Brother Donnie Dalton officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the services.

The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4 at the Companion Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff at SkyRidge Medical Center for their compassionate care.
