Tyler Coker, 30, was arrested on Friday after he allegedly threatened to kill a man and his family and then showed up at their home with a baseball bat.

The threats were over $80 he was owed.

When police responded to the call on Snow Hill Road in Ooltewah, they found the defendant attempting to back out of the driveway in an attempt to leave the scene.

Police had been advised that he was armed with a bat and potentially a gun, so an officer held him at gunpoint and detained him in the driveway.

One victim stated that Coker had called him about $80 he was owed, but when he told him he didn’t have the money yet, he became irate. He said that he specifically threatened to hurt his wife, 6-month-old son and his father.

The victim told officers that Coker said he was going to come over with his brother to break the house windows, burn down the house, and destroy his cars.

He also told authorities the defendant showed up unexpectedly that night and began yelling, walking around with a pink and gray baseball bat.

The bat, along with a burnt joint, was found in the defendant’s car and he was taken into custody.
