The Cleveland City Schools Board of Education was awarded the Tennessee School Board Association Board of Distinction honor at the TSBA Fall District Meeting in Grundy County on Thursday.
TSBA honors those boards that meet specified requirements in four key areas: planning, policy, promotion and board development. Individual board members were also awarded Boardsmanship Awards which TSBA offers to members who invest their time and effort into becoming more informed and more effective school board members. The award is given for participation in activities outside of local school board obligations.
Mr. Charlie Cogdill earned the Level I award in his first year on the Board of Education. Mr. George Meacham earned the Level II award. Dr. Murl Dirksen and Mr. Steve Morgan earned the Level III award, and Board Chairman Tom Cloud earned the Level IV award. Ms. Dawn Robinson was recognized as a master board member at the event. Ms. Peggy Pesterfield is also a Level IV member.
