Jericho Brass Coming To Dalton

  • Wednesday, October 5, 2016

The DEO Clinic presents the Jericho Brass, in concert this Sunday at 4 p.m.  The benefit concert will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 101 S. Selvidge St. in Dalton.

The Jericho Brass, a traditional British-style brass band, has been providing brass music in Chattanooga and surrounding communities since 1998.  An all-volunteer ensemble, Jericho Brass is made up of professional and college trained musicians from the Tri-State area. The Jericho Brass performs marches, orchestral transcriptions, popular tunes, hymns and sacred selections, as well as patriotic favorites.

Participants of the Deep South (Ga.) Brass Band and two Ashland (Ky,) Brass Band Festivals, the Jericho Brass has also performed concerts in Memphis, Abingdon, Va., Greenville, SC, Charleston, WV, Atlanta, and many venues in North Georgia and Alabama.  The Band has also made two concert tours to England, performing in Dubcross, Brighouse, Elland, Oxford, Bournemouth, London, Wigston, and Dublin, Ireland.

The band is a 2010 winner of the “George Washington Medal” awarded by the Freedoms Foundation in Valley Forge, Pa. from a presentation in 2010 of an original patriotic composition “Defenders of Liberty” by band members, Dan Hanson, Skip Houck and Tracy Street.

The tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. Advance tickets are strongly recommended as seating is limited.  Advance tickets may be purchased at the Dalton Freight Depot Gift Shop; Southern Accessories and Accents; Clark, Davies, Easley and Pool; and online at the secure website.
