Anderson, John Law (Dalton)

John Law Anderson, 68, of Dalton, passed away Thursday October 6, 2016 at his residence.

He was the son of the late Samuel Paul Anderson Sr. and Louise Bond Anderson; and was also preceded in death by his brothers, Samuel Paul Anderson Jr, Charles Anderson and Billy Anderson; and sister, Ann Anderson Kidwai.

John was a graduate from the Clemson University and a big fan of Clemson Football. For 30 years, he was the owner of Carpet Industry Clearinghouse, Inc. John was a member of Dalton First United Methodist Church. He loved spending time with his family, being at home or at the lake house on Lake Chickamauga. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend.

John is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Marty Wells Anderson of the residence; daughters and sons-in-law, Karen Anderson Norton and Justin of Canton, GA and Ashley Anderson Rich and Bart of Dalton; sisters and brother-in-law, Ray and Bill Pettus of Ashburn, VA and Mary Anderson Lewis of Centreville, VA; sister-in-law, MaBelle Lyons Anderson of Macon, GA; brother-in-law, Salah Kidwai of Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Malachi Norton, Mary Ruth Norton, Cal Rich, John Henry Wilkerson, Wells Wilkerson, Creed Rich and Ande Rich; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday from Dalton First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tommy Willingham officiating. Burial will follow in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends in the Atrium of the Church on Monday from noon until the service at 2 p.m.

The family asks that flowers please be omitted and memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis TN 38105.
