Greene, Doris "Dot" (Dalton)

Doris “Dot” Greene, 78, of Dalton, Georgia, died on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Erlanger Hospital surrounded by her  loving family.

She was born October 6, 1938 in Fannin County GA, to the late Robert and Eula Mae Davenport Williams; and was also preceded in death by her son, Alan “Buddy” Greene; grandson, Robert Greene; brothers, Paul and H F Williams; and sisters, Bonnie Amonett, Helen Brindle, Ann King and Grace West.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Jr. Fisk of Flat Rock, AL, Renee Fawley of Dalton, GA and Maria and Tim Southern of Gilbert, AZ; father of her children, Joyl Greene of Flat Rock, AL; sister, Kathleen Hasty of Rocky Face, GA; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.

Service to celebrate the life of Ms. Doris “Dot” Greene will be held Sunday Nov. 20 at 2 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Scott Hobbs officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery with Rick Hasty, Trey Hasty, Mike Amonett, Tim Southern, Dwight McElrath, and Jr. Sanford serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19.

Arrangements are by Ponders Melrose Chapel.
