Man Shot And Killed While Attempting To Rob 2 People In Downtown Chattanooga

A man was shot and killed while attempting to rob two people in downtown Chattanooga on Friday night. He was identified as as 42-year-old Delane Carlos Price.

The shooter was identified as Stan Lindsey, 59.

Police said the incident happened at the Days Inn motel at 900 Carter St. at 7:40 p.m.

Officers with the Chattanooga Police Department responded concerning reports of a person shot.

Police located Price suffering from a gunshot wound.

Hamilton County EMS responded and pronounced him deceased on the scene.

Police said, "The decedent was attempting to rob two people when he was shot.

"The two subjects that were being robbed stayed on the scene until police officers arrived."

Price had an extensive criminal record, including theft, drugs and driving charges.

Chattanooga Police Department's Violent Crimes Bureau continues to actively investigate this incident.
