Amelia “Freckles” Saunders, 73, of Soddy Daisy, passed away on December 9, 2016.

She was a member of Rechoboth Baptist Church. She had been an avid bowler having been a member of a bowling league for many years. Amelia was a substitute teacher at Soddy Daisy High School in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Most of all, she loved her family, and especially loved attending all the activities of her grandkids. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Marie Hanners of Kennett, Missouri. 

She is survived by her husband of forty nine years, Jack Saunders; her son and daughter-in-law, Timbo and Jennifer Saunders; her grandchildren, Zachary Taylor Saunders and Kylee Saunders and a sister, Rita Dean. 

Services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 13, at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with Reverend Alan Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Chattanooga Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
