Winner's Standout Trent Pumps In 36 Points

Gary Trent Jr. ripped Hamilton Heights for a game-high 36 points on Friday night and helped Prolific Prep Academy (Windsor, Calif.) defeat the Hawks 72-62 in the Marshal County (Ky.) Hoopfest.

Trent, who played all 32 minutes, hit 14 of 28 shots, including 3 of 9 3-point tries. He scored 19 in the first half and had 11 each in the second and third periods.

Abu Kigab scored 13 points and Paul Scruggs added 12 for Prolific Prep.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker scored 23 points and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 21 for the Hawks (4-2). Walker and Alexander combined to make 15 of 35 shots and Walker connected on 5 of 10 3-pointers.

The Hawks, who next play at home against Covenant on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m., shot 44.2 percent from the floor, hitting 23 of 52 attempts. Prolific Prep made 28 of 59 for 47.5 percent.

Hamilton Heights out-rebounded Prolific Prep 37-29 and Kaosi Ezeagu led the way with eight rebounds.
