Charles Murphy
Charles H. “Chuck” Murphy, Sr., 69, of Chickamauga, Georgia, died on Friday, February 26, 2016 at his home.
He was a member of Rossville Church of God for over 30 years and was retired from Happy Valley Farms. He loved hunting, fishing, Land’s Bakery, Ridgeland football and spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Pearl Viola Murphy, two brothers, Eugene Murphy and Jesse William Murphy and sister, Shirley Brodie.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Charlotte Murphy, children, Tammy Murphy, Chuck (Rhonda) Murphy, Jr., Angela Murphy and Haley (Alex) Holloway, grandchildren, Tim Butler, Joshua (Samantha) Butler, Justin Finley and Cheri Lang, great-grandchildren, Braydon Holloway, Felicity Daughtery and Harlan Cook, brother, Billy Ray (Jimmie Ann) Murphy and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 1, at 1 p.m. at the Rossville Church of God with the Reverend Tim Bailey and Brother James Curtis officiating. Burial will follow at the Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
The family will receive friends on Monday, Feb. 29, from 2-8 p.m. in the funeral home and Tuesday, March 1, from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour in the church.
Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory at the end of Historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
