  • Saturday, March 26, 2016

Authorities said a DNA match has led to the arrest of a man in a 2006 rape.

Orlando Evans was taken into custody in Atlanta on Wednesday and brought back to the Hamilton County Jail.

Police said on Nov. 30, 2006 three armed people with their faces covered broke into a home on Zinnia Street. They demanded money.

One of the suspects took a woman to another part of the house, where he pushed her to the floor, then hit her several times.

The man, who had his head covered with a jacket, then dragged the victim to the bathroom. He threatened to kill her before raping her.

Evans is also charged with aggravated burglary, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated rape.

His bond was set at $750,000.

Evans is set to appear in General Sessions Court on Monday.
