Joseph Norman Jefferson, Sr., 27, died on March 20, 2016 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.  

 

 He was born January 12, 1989. Joe attended Chattanooga Central High School and enrolled in Job Corp, where he completed his education. He was employed at the Dollar Tree. Joe was always the funny guy, never meeting a stranger. He was forever talking about his mother and loved his father and children with all his heart.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Stephanie Ann Jefferson; grandparents, Noreen and Gerald D’ Anthony, Sr., Norman and Viola Jefferson.

He is survived by two sons, Cor’Darrius M. Jefferson, Joseph N. Jefferson, Jr. of Chattanooga; four daughters, Aniya, JaZyaah Jefferson of Chattanooga; Ja’Kayla Gadsden of Murfreesboro, Tn., and Mialiyah Davis of Knoxville; father, Joe J. Jefferson (Mattie Edwards); sister, Erica (Sidney) Collins; brother, Patrick Wright; nieces, Brianna Cooper, Sydnei Collins, Latel Wright; nephew, Jaylin Collins; a host of uncles, aunt and friends.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 31, at Stephen Temple CPC with Reverend Bobby Jo Adamson officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.

The body will lie in state after noon on Wednesday, March 30, and the family will receive friends from 6–7 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
