Man Shot In Head On Cowart Street On March 13 Says Shooter Was Man Shot And Killed 13 Days Later

Chattanooga Police said a man who was shot in the head on the Southside on March 13 has identified the shooter as a man who was shot and killed 13 days later. 

Police said Reuben L. Simpson says he was shot by Stephen Hurston.

Hurston was shot during an attempted robbery on March 26.

In the earlier case, police responded to the 1300 block of Cowart Street on the report of a shooting. There officers located one victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim, Reuben Simpson, was unresponsive when police arrived. He was transported to the hospital. His injuries proved to be non-life threatening.

Police at the time said they had the name of a suspect from witnesses from the Bella Vita Restaurant, at which both the suspect and victim had been.
